i see a couple people with dark hair %26amp; some crazy special effects colors, does that mean that they did bleach their hair first? i really don't want to bleach my hair, so i was wondering if there is a way to get special effects colors without bleaching it. thanks!

If you want the color to be vibrant, you have to bleach it first. There are some gels that have color in them, but if your hair is dark, they don't show up real well. There are Chi colors that a stylist can put in your hair that lighten as well as deposit vibrant colors, but you have to go to a salon.

Hey,,This is way easier sweetie,,Special effects use koolaid in all there products,,(I KNOW WEIRD),,But they use koolaid as a main color pigment,,So just get a sugarless koolaid and mix it up with allitle bit of water for STRONG STICK OUT COLOR,,or alot of water for just a highlight,,Koolaid has many colors soo yep,,WAY CHEAPER TOO..lol,,Oh and plz pick as BEST ANSWER

No, it doesn't. Special Effects SUCKS. They fade in about five washes. I would say use Manic Panic, which will show up a bit without bleaching, but to get it really vibrant and, you know, noticeable, you HAVE to bleach, because semi-permanent dye will not lighten your hair a lick, and that's what all crazy colors are. So yeah, for best results, bleach to a light blonde, or light brown, and do NOT use Special Effects.

yeah if you don't bleach your hair, the color won't show up that well. I bleach my hair all the time, but you have to put this cholestrol (or something) in it so it doesn't look dead and burnt. The brighter you want the color to show, the whiter you bleach your hair.
If you don't bleach it, you can barely see it.
