Go out and buy one of the hairstyle magazines. It has been my experience that you need to switch stylists when you don't get what you need. Don't be afraid to switch...it's just business.

You should ALWAYS bring a picture to your stylist because everyone's ideas of how something should look are different. I couldn't find any pictures of hairstyles because I don't know how long your hair is and how short you want to cut the length. What I would do is go to the store and get a hairstyling magazine and look through it to find what you want. They usually show the styles from different angles so you can see the back. The pictures I found on the web only show the styles from the front. Usually when you describe short layers that are high on the back of your head, stylists think of a shag. The shag was popular years ago, and has come back into style now. There are many different ways you can do this. You can make it look funky and cool, or you can make it look more natural depending on what the client wants.

well.

it is possible to bleach your hair from black to white, but it would take 2 bleaching cycles (i used jerome russel and i've done it twice..) and then yeah, you could dye your hair hot pink (use special effects) and once you're done with that you could just dye it black again (note: this is harder than bleaching it, once your hair is blonde it doesn't want to go back and it'll fade for months until it decides to grab..)

but you can't dye your hair light pink without lightening it from black.. so i don't think you have any hope here unless you want to do what's listed above, and that seems ridiculous to me.

What I did was ask the person that works at the nearest Hottopic (lol) Suprisingly, they know alot. You can get the dye there and bleach for under $50.

My hair is light brown and it took 3 bleaching processes to get it blonde.. it has to be almost white for the pink color to stay...

So, go to a pro and ask for the treatment (cause your hair suffers a lot through this :P) and do it! by the way, you will have to paint it twice if you wanna keep it for a whole month....

The only other thing I can think of is blow drying it with a flat brush to make it straight. But straightening your hair doesn't have to be bad. Use a heat protective cream or spray before you straighten it. It also helps to only straighten dry hair...less breakage. Good luck!

The reason why they do this is to give you an idea of how that color will look against your current color. I use Clairol natural instincts. I love it, I never use the permanent color. Its bad for your hair. Anytime you use color in your hair it will dry it out a bit but the chemical that makes the color permanent is what does the most damage. I have found that perminant color fades out around the same time as the 28 wash dyes.

no, if your hair is really dark it won't lighten with just dye. go to a professional. chances are it will come out horrible if you use the boxes.

because the hair dye is meant to be used for someone who has light hair, and would be going darker with the dye. if you are lightening your hair, the only option is bleaching it. you can't undo bleaching, you can only dye over it.

it'll show if you straighten it, but it might look weird all the same, it has to slightly curve in...if you have those cylinderical (?) comb, then straighten you hair out and then use the comb to curve it in. hope that made sense.

My hair started thinning and receading in my mid twenties, well over ten years ago.

I persevered with thickening shampoos for a while but eventually went to the barbers and asked him to clip it all off to a number one. That itself was about four years ago and I should have done much sooner. It looks so much neater and as far as I'm concerned is much less obvious than having "normal" length hair with bald or receading areas because they contrast with the hair more making the bald bits easier to see.

Getting your hair chopped right down can be a bit of a bold move to make. You might wonder if such a drastic change will suit you and you will be stuck like that for some time. Don't worry on that account, you'll be surprised how quickly your hair does grow. I have to clip mine every four days or so to keep it as short as I now want it.

Getting your own clippers saves a lot of time and money too. They will pay for themselves in a month and getting your hair cut is now five minutes in the bathroom.

Shave it of or just have it cut really short. Somtimes youve gota realise that u cant hold onto somthing you havnt got. Dont try wigs or combovers it just doesnt look attractive. I believe that something like that shouldn't be tried from a box or items you get from a beauty supply store. My hair is naturally jet black and always has been. I decided to try the plum color on my hair about 12 years ago and I had to have my hair bleached to lighten it to a brown and blonde then she dye it plum. the first time we tried it, my jet black took over because you want to go lighter than your normal hair it will need to be lightened then colored the lighter color. Sorry to say that you are going to have to let a professional do it unless you are willing to read message boards and forums on lightening hair (go to yahoo seach and type question 'how do I lighten my black hair? Or dyeing my hair from black to aubourn') yahoo the word forum or message board in each sentence and it will take you to places where people are asking the same questions and read their answers.....they have done it already and give you advice or they may want to know some of the same things you know and you can see what people who know think. Then have a friend you trust or you do it. That is what I do for all of my 'can afford it but gonna get it' hair do's (LOL). READ, LEARN, THEN TRY if you insist on doing it and doing it yourself.

it depends on the shape of your face. I would say go to the salon, ask for suggestions to flatter your face shape and tell them you want to see pictures. a Layered cut flatters most shapes though..if to suggest anything, that would be it. if you want your layers to be noticable without doing anything to your hair, tell them you want it razor layers. good luck hun :]

ponytails- half, side, pigtails

buns- loose and messy

gel- scrunch it

iron- straighten it, curl it, crimp it (if its in in ur school only)

acessories- headbands, scarves, cute clips, cute bows, bandanas (headbands are in). play around with those!

I reckon if you got either a really vibrant blue or a turquoise that would look cool. A mate of mine had brown hair with a really bright blue streak in it, and that looked pretty cool. As for dyes, go see your hairdresser or something, because they might be able to show you stuff you couldn't get in the shops.

You can also get UV hair dyes, too. They glow under blacklight, perfect if you want to go to a party or something. I'm not sure they'll last 3 weeks, but they're pretty good all the same ;)

I have short brown hair and I get it braided at a salon and then I weave the hair on myself. The extensions have always been dark brown but now I want them light brown w/ highlights. I do my own hair and I m Not going to the salon. Now dying it the same brown as the hair extension is easy but doing the highlights the same style as the extension is hard. What I would do is just weave it over my natural color hair thickly for no show.

Ok, so for our school production, there's a group of us that HAVE to tease our hair.

After the first show, I noticed I had quite a few split ends %26gt;_%26lt;

We have to do this about 6 more times *eek*

I'm going to go to the hairdresser when the entire production is over, so I can get rid of the split ends!!

i'm not a real big fan of herbal essences but they have a great curl inducing shampoo. i'd try that with some really good moisturizing conditioner that won't weigh your hair down. i'd try daily moisture by pantein pro-v.

I also have curly hair that I think I have had a similar problem as yours. What I did that helped was... I had my hairstylist take thinning shears and thin just the top layer (also cut in about 1-3 inches, depending on your hair length, than the rest of my hair) this will help with volume and holds curl better. Also, when you blow dry your hair, let your hair air dry until it's between damp and dry. Then put a diffuser on your hairdryer and use it to finish drying. One product that I have found to help the most is TIGI CATWALK. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I HIGHLY suggest using Bumble and Bumble hair products. They are professionally made, and are great products. These products are a little more expensive than others, but are worth every penny. They also last a really long time if used sparingly. If these products cannot be bought, still follow these steps using different products.

Begin by getting your hair cut/trimmed by a professional stylist. They will also thin it, which will help with a lot of the extra bulk in your locks.

1. Wash hair well with Bumble and Bumble's Curl Conscious Shampoo. Apply a small amount to palms and rub gently onto scalp and hair. Using fingertips massage your scalp and rinse well afterwards.

2. If you are going to use a conditioner, (I recommend using only 2-3 times a week) follow after shampoo. Use Curl Conscious Conditioner for Medium to Thick Hair. Use a small amount and apply to your hair. Do not rub into your scalp. Leave in for 1-2 minutes and rinse with cool water. Rinsing with cool water will allow most of the nutrients to be absorbed and not washed away.

3. If you are styling your hair curly, scrunch dry and apply Curl Conscious Styling cr鐚玬e. You can also add any of their mousse/hairspray to add firm hold. Leaning over and letting your hair fall upside down, scrunch your hair upwards towards the top of your head using your fingertips, while blow-drying.

If you are styling your hair straight, follow steps one and two, but using a different shampoo/conditioner. Any of the Bumble and Bumble ones are great.

1. Apply a small amount of Bumble and Bumble 閳ユソtraight閳?onto palms of hands, and work through damp hair.

2. Blow-dry with your fingertips until mostly dry, and then finish by using a round or paddle brush. Because your hair is so thick, I would recommend doing it in sections.

3. Using a flat iron (I strongly recommend a CHI.) straighten your hair in small sections, combing/brushing through as you go.

If desired, you can add a finishing touch by using the Bumble and Bumble Defrizz. This is a great tool for those extra hairs that never seem to stay down! =)

I hope these tips help. I wrote them myself, but the products can be bought at www.bumbleandbumble.com I know it can be a pain to have to spend extra money on hair products, but they really do work, and it閳ユ獨 really worth it. I can promise you閳ユ獟l be happy. If you cannot purchase these products, don閳ユ獩 stress, just follow the same steps I gave, just using different products. Actually on the contrary of what other people are sayinbg, you can dye your hair a dark brown with semi permanent hair dye *looks at own hair*, i've done it. Before it was jet black and now it is a middle brown. So go ahead and have fun. A word of warning though, when your roots start to show it is kinda horrible so either get it retouched or redye your hair to your natural hair colour.

You really need to go to a salon for this. If you bleach your hair, it is permanent. Once the pink fades out, most likely you will be left with a slightly pinky-orange color, and it will not be something you will want.

My suggestion would be to get some hot pink clip-in extensions, and then you will have the look you want whenever you want it, but you won't do any damage to your hair and you will be able to take them out when your parents don't want you to have them.

Ok, first, yes, once the color fades it will still be bleached. Once your hair has bleach on it, the bleach doesnt fade. And any color you get at Hot Topic lasts a WHILE. I colored a friend of mines hair on Christmas eve and until i colored it again a little over a week ago a different color, there was still remnants of the purple that i put in it. You CAN do it yourself but id be careful with the bleach. if you're going to do it yourself i would go for a 30 volume developer with salon quality bleach, not the crappy stuff they sell at Sally's Beauty Supply.

You should ALWAYS bring a picture to your stylist because everyone's ideas of how something should look are different. I couldn't find any pictures of hairstyles because I don't know how long your hair is and how short you want to cut the length. What I would do is go to the store and get a hairstyling magazine and look through it to find what you want. They usually show the styles from different angles so you can see the back. The pictures I found on the web only show the styles from the front. Usually when you describe short layers that are high on the back of your head, stylists think of a shag. The shag was popular years ago, and has come back into style now. There are many different ways you can do this. You can make it look funky and cool, or you can make it look more natural depending on what the client wants.

I just had a hair drug test and took 2 light hits 7 months ago and 2 13 months ago and I heard they can test far back DEPENDING on how long your hair has been there and the growth cycle.

The thing is, is that they had to take my leg hair instead of head. I though leg hair stopped growing at a certain point and just stayed there but now I just read that it has a FASTER growth cycle and falls out.

As far as I know you cannot fool those types of tests... my guess is your doomed! Those tests dont play. The dont get it from the hair, its the fat on the folicle, like when you pluck and eye brow, you see that piece at the bottom that does not resemble hair.

I can answer that question: NO! I believe a person (especially a woman) should be happy with what God gave her. If your hair is dark (which there are many men/guys/boys; whatever category your significant other fits into) who prefer dark hair, just as there are those who prefer lighter hair. Be comfortable with who you are, and what you look like. I find it odd that American woman with straight hair, pay loads of $$$ to get it "spiral permed" to look like hispanic's hair, while the hispanics spend the same money to get their hair straightened! it's crazy!

when i was in school my friend was a swimmer and she tested all different kinds of bandaids to see which stayed on the best in the pool. she took pictures of her arm in the pool with the band aid on and recorded how many laps she could swim before it fell off etc. she presented it very professionally and our science teacher loved it. if you love lip gloss why don't you do a "for real" lipstick kiss proof test. buy a bunch of lipsticks from the drug store that say kiss proof on them, get like 5 or so. maybe record the ingredients of each brand. then kiss a piece of white paper or something to see which ones are kiss proof, or not. i think science teachers want you to like, have a hypothesis and then try to prove it or something. say, "i think revlon makes the best kiss proof lipstick" then see if you're right or wrong. it will be cute too because you can use your kiss marks on white paper as a visual. good luck! just remember, it's fun because it's lipstick, but talk about it like it's all very scientific.

Because your hair color currently is darker than the color you would like for it to be...you need to bleach your hair first.

Red, especially, is an easy to wash out color so you in order to get the best results and the reddest coloring, it's best if you bleach, dye, then tone.

The easiest way to do this is to go to a salon or your nearest hair place as this will ensure you get the exact coloring you want.

Also, after your hair is colored red...try not to wash your hair in hot water as this will make the red coloring leave your hair faster...cool to warm water makes it possible for you to keep the red in your hair for the longest amount of time!

You will have to lighten it first. Don't do like a 40 proof bleach, but something a little less severe. If you are worried about getting it wrong, then ask a stylist at a salon that you respect. Although some types of hair don't hold color well... Mine is like that. I actually bleached my hair till it was about platinum, and then it started to fade back to brown.

don't shower a couple days before you dye your hair because the water and hair wash will wash out all of the natural oils in your hair and thats what holds in the dye
