Should i get tiny caramel blonde highlights in my hair or another colour? [PIC INSIDE]?

My hair is medium brown with chestnut/golden tones, my hair was jet black last year and took a long time to get it brown well it went bright orange before that! my hair was naturally blonde but i will probably never get it that colour again unless i build it up with highlights but at the moment im thinking of getting a few caramel blonde highlights all over that will blend in nicely, do you think i should or do you have any other ideas?

Also i have very short layres on top and wispy bangs so do you think the highlights will look okay?

I'm a hairdresser and, I think caramel highlights on that gorgeous hair-o-yours would look great!

Tell the color tech about your color history. It's very important that you do, in order to get the best results.

A word of warning!: When you do decide to have the highlights done, make sure you DO NOT use a conditioner with protein for at least a week before. Protein makes your hair too soft, which is really bad during the discoloration process. What happens is that your hair becomes dry and brittle and can break off. Condition with a light conditioner or rinse. No leave-in. A week after the highlights are done, you can use whatever you want.
